Valentine’s Day at Landfall

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a gourmet meal and live Theatre Production at the Country Club of Landfall! Presented by Andre Brillaud and Charlotte Hackman the production Love Letters will be performed at the Landfall Clubhouse this Thursday. The event which takes place from 6:00-10:00pm starts with a delectable dinner. The dinner menu includes a pan seared 6oz filet mignon, butter-roasted Maine lobster tail, au gratin potatoes, bacon-wrapped haricot verts, and a greens winter salad. For dessert there will be vanilla bean and chocolate swirl cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries. This romantic event is a fantastic way to spending the holiday, enjoying delicious food and a wonderful show!

Breakfast and Lunch with Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine

Celebrity Chef, Robert Irvine is coming to the Country Club of Landfall! This Friday come have breakfast or lunch for a good cause with Chef Robert. The Food Network star and host of Restaurant Impossible and Worst Cooks in America will be at the Landfall Clubhouse at 7:30am and 11:00 am preparing a locally sourced gourmet breakfast and lunch for guests. Robert will talk about his exciting journey of how he became a celebrity chef, behind the scenes stories, and will share his favorite recipes.

This breakfast fundraiser supports GLOW Academy, an all-girls public charter school. GLOW Academy’s core values are high academic expectations, leadership development, social and emotional development, and college preparation.

Seahawk’s Mens Basketball

This Saturday come support the Seahawks! The University of North Carolina at Wilmington men’s basketball team is hosting James Madison as Trask Coliseum. Seahawk basketball games are a fun way to spend the evening with the whole family. The Seahawks are an exciting team to watch, and made it to the March Madness Division 1 NCAA tournament in 2016 and 2017.

Wine Tasting

Come find your new favorite wine! The Country Club Landfall is hosting two wine events within the next week at the Landfall Clubhouse. This is a great time to meet new neighbors, socialize with friends, and explore new wines. The Wine Tasting is taking place Thursday, January 24 at 6:00pm and the Wine Dinner is on Tuesday, January 29 at 6:30pm.

 

Comedy Show and Dinner 

What’s better than dinner and a show?! Come enjoy the Comedy Show this Friday with comedian Mello Mike. The bar opens at 6:30 and there will be hors d’oeuvres served. The dinner buffet will start at 7:00 and will be followed by the show at 8:00.

Father-Daughter Snowball Dance

It’s almost time for the Annual Father-Daughter Snowball Dance! One of the most anticipated events hosted by the Country Club of Landfall, the Snowball Dance is a fun family night. Taking place at the Landfall Clubhouse on Saturday, January 19th,  the enchanting evening starts at 6:00pm. There will be a DJ and plenty of dancing. Additionally, dinner will be served, featuring a beef tenderloin meal for fathers and a chicken tender meal for the daughters. This is a memorable night you don’t want to miss!

Mamma Mia! at Thalian Hall

One of the most beloved musicals of all time, Mamma Mia!, will be playing at Thalian starting this weekend! The musical, which is based on the music from the band ABBA, tells the story of friendship, female empowerment, and love. This show will have the audience dancing in their seats with hit songs including, “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper”, “Money, Money, Money”, and of course “Mamma Mia”. The musical will be playing at the legendary Thalian Hall starting this Sunday, December 30th through Saturday, January 19th. This show is presented by the Opera House Theatre Company.

Enchanted Airlie

One of Wilmington’s most popular holiday events is back! Enchanted Airlie is now taking place at the stunning Airlie Gardens. Walk the half-mile tour path around the beautiful gardens and enjoy thousands of Christmas lights, detailed displays, and views of the Intracoastal Waterway.

There will also be a special guest at Enchanted Airlie, Santa Claus! Santa will be waiting to hear children’s Christmas Wish Lists and will be spread holiday cheer.

Additionally, there will also be local food and beverage vendors selling hot chocolate, popcorn, beer, wine, cookies, and more!

There are two times slots for guests to explore the gardens per night. The first one is from 5-7 and the second is from 7-9. Jingle Bell 5K Run

This Saturday is the Wrightsville Beach Museum of History’s annual Jingle Bell 5K Run. This festive run/walk event encourages all participants to dress up in holiday apparel! In addition to awards for the fastest runners there will also be awards for Best Overall Holiday Costume, Best Group Holiday Costume, Best Family Holiday Costume, and Best Pet Costume.

Last year there were 518 competitors and over 300 spectators enjoying the event. Proceeds from this run benefit the Wrightsville Beach Museum, which preserves the history of this special island.

Dinner with Santa at the Landfall Clubhouse is a special annual holiday event. This dinner gives a chance for families to enjoy time with Santa and for children to make sure Santa hears their Christmas list.

 

Wednesday, December 5th – Holiday All Vendor Wine Tasting

The Holiday All Vendor Wine Tasting is the perfect time to discover your new favorite wine!

 

Thursday, December 6th – Holiday Tennis Party

Taking place at the Tennis Pro shop there will be a party from 5-7pm featuring drinks, light hors d’oeuvres, great sales, and a tennis exhibition!

 

Sunday, December 9th – CCL Holiday Cocktail Party

The Holiday Cocktail Party is a fun way to celebrate the holidays and see all your neighbors and friends!

 

Tuesday, December 4th and 11th – Gingerbread House Decorating

Sign up soon for this popular children’s event! The kids will love decorating their gingerbread and bringing it home to use as decoration at home.

 

Sunday, December 16th – Kenan Chapel Carols

This traditional festive event includes brass instrument musicians from the Salvation Army performing classic Christmas Carols for everyone to sing along too. Additionally, Santa and his elves will be there to welcome children of all ages!
