9th Annual Wrightsville Beach Marathon

The 9th Annual Wrightsville Beach Marathon is taking place this Saturday! Sponsored by New Hanover Regional Medical Center, this fun event brings everyone together. Competitors, volunteers, and spectators all enjoy the race and the excitement. Landfall Realty will be manning the water station on Arboretum Drive right across from Fair Lakes Drive.  Please stop by and help us cheer on the athletes!

Beginning at 6:40am the half marathon and full marathon races start at Wrightsville Beach and end at UNCW. The route takes the race through Landfall, with participants entering the Eastwood Gate around 7:00 and exiting through the Military Cutoff Gate. Landfall residents who wish to cheer on the runners will receive a complimentary breakfast package from Dunkin Donuts as a gift from the Landfall Foundation who appreciates your support. People cheering and holding signs is always a huge motivator for the participants.

The Landfall Foundation is the main beneficiary of the funds from the race. Run by resident volunteers, the Landfall Foundation helps the underprivileged in the Wilmington area by providing food, shelter, health, arts, education, leadership programs, and scholarships to those in need. Last year the Foundation awarded $363,100 to 74 local charities!

Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Alison Bernhart for being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cape Fear Realtors Association! This award is given to members who have given exemplary and outstanding service to the association. To be nominated a member must have served in the real estate industry for at least 35 years. Then, once nominated the member must meet the criteria established by the association and be elected by a vote among Board Members. We are so proud of Alison for receiving this huge honor!
