The Landfall Tradition

It’s time for the 16th Annual Collegiate Golf Tournament, The Landfall Tradition! Eighteen women’s college teams, hosted by the UNCW Seahawks, will be competing for first place. Attending will be four of the nation’s top 10 best teams in the county, which are Alabama, Florida, Duke, and Furman. Additionally, last years champion South Carolina will also be competing to defend their title. This is always a close competition with last year’s tournament ending in a tie breaker.

Halloween at Landfall

This Halloween the Country Club of Landfall has fun events for all ages!

For children there is a Halloween dinner movie party. This party takes place Friday, October 27th from 6:00pm-9:30pm. The movie that will be shown is Hotel Transylvania.

For children aged ten and up there is a Double Digits Halloween Party. This year’s theme is creepy carnival. This scary event will be held in the Heron Room at the Landfall Clubhouse on Friday, October 20, from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. There will be light snacks and lots of spooky Halloween fun!

Finally, for adults there is a Halloween party with live music! Dance the night away with the band, The Imitations. Additionally, there will be outdoor fire pits, perfect for socializing around. Costumes are encouraged so come to dressed to impress! The party takes place Friday, October 27th from 7:00pm-11:00pm at the Nicklaus Clubhouse.

Wilmington Symphony Orchestra

The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra has a concert Mozart and Brahms, this Saturday. This exciting performance features international pianist, Dr. Barry Salwen. Barry has not only received his bachelor, master, and doctorate degree from Julliard, but has performed and given master classes all over the world, including Asia, Israel, Europe, and the US.

Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 and Brahm’s Symphony No. 2 are two of the pieces that will be performed on Saturday. The Investors Roundtable of Wilmington

Wednesday October 5th, is the Investors Roundtable of Wilmington meeting. Michael Thompson will be the featured speaker at the meeting, and will be talking about TC2000, a charting tool for technical analysis. Michael is the Director of Education and Business Relations at Worden Brothers and has taught classes on the program for over 16 years. TC2000 is a program that scans stocks to determine which ones are consolidating, breaking out, or experiences major divergences. The portion of the program he focuses on teaching is about trading personalities and priorities. This meeting will take place at noon at the Country Club of Landfall.

The Investors Roundtable is an educational forum that discusses financial, economic, and business information to private investors. These meetings are held monthly, with lunch served at 12pm followed by the speaker’s presentation. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about the stock market!
