Whether you’re a Landfall NC property owner, or just visiting Wilmington, NC, whether you’ve got kids, grandkids, or just have a bit of the kid in you, Carolina Beach is a great little getaway for some old fashioned fun and new fangled music.
The Boardwalk Makeover (a not-for-profit organization), staffed entirely by volunteers, has been working diligently for the past two years to bring back the look and feel of days gone by on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk and they’ve been having huge successes. In addition to the amusements and arcade games being back there is something for everyone going on every Tuesday through Sunday until the middle of September. There’s Music at the Gazebo every Thursday evening and the entertainment changes weekly. There are also fireworks after dark on Thursdays as well as Sunday Movies by the Lake (both sponsored by the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce) and that’s just a few of the many free events on the schedule.
A new addition this year is the Boardwalk Blast, a Battle of the Bands that has its final round of competition on August 8th from 1-5PM. Talented area musicians have been competing over the course of three prior events to whittle down the field to just two bands who will duel throughout the afternoon to see who claims the grand prize. What a great way for Landfall families, friends, and neighbors to spend a Saturday afternoon!
