The 14th annual Good Shepherd Center’s Golf Tournament was held on April 2-3 at the Country Club of Landfall, according to Jeff Mays, who serves as tournament co-chair along with Doug Thompson.
This year’s event kicked off on Sunday night, April 2 with a cocktail party and dinner, featuring guest speaker Kym Hougham, Executive Director of the Wells Fargo Championship at Eagle Point being held on May 1st -7th. A live auction was held following the speaker. The field teed off Monday morning on Landfall’s Nicklaus Course, followed by a cocktail party.
Founded in 2003, the tournament has evolved into the Center’s largest fundraiser. Landfall Realty along with other area sponsors were proud to be a part of this year’s tournament, says Ken Kirkman, Landfall Realty General Manager
The Good Shepherd Center provides programs for the homeless and hungry of Wilmington and New Hanover County. Last year it served more than 88,000 meals, provided shelter to more than 900 people and helped 161 people move from the shelter into housing.
