Do you have a passion for art and film? Are you looking for something fun to do this weekend? Wilmington’s annual film festival, Cucalorus, which starts today and lasts until Sunday, is a great event for you. The festival brings thousands of filmmakers, artists, and spectators to downtown Wilmington where the event is held.
Founded in 1994, Cucalorus has become one of the largest film festivals in the south. The film portion of the festival includes screenings for over 200 films from around the world. The films are viewed non-competitively and are shared with the public for their own entertainment. In addition to film screenings, there are keynote speakers, social events, installations, performances, music videos, panels, and workshops. Held at various venues and restaurants in downtown Wilmington, the festival gets the whole community involved.
