The Cameron Art Museum (CAM) in Wilmington, NC provides an opportunity for Landfall property owners to view quality exhibits, and also presents educational opportunities, public programs, and unique events. Current exhibits include Winning IDEAs: Selected Product Designs 2008 on view through October 25, 2009. This exhibition features a collection of International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) winners. The IDEA Awards are presented annually by IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America), with selections made by an international jury of professional designers and academics. Kaleidoscope: Changing Views of the Permanent Collection on view through May 9, 2010 features selected paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, photgraphs, furniture, decorative arts and other objects drawn from the museum’s permanent collection. The third current exhibit is GWATHMEY SIEGEL: Inspiration and Transformation on view through January 10, 2010. Inspiration and Transformation is the first museum exhibition devoted to the work of American architectural firm Gwathmey Siegel and Associates Architects (NYC) who are the designers of the CAM.
The Cameron Art Museum has a cafe serving great food and a gift shop with marvelously distinctive items. Located at the corner of 17th Street and Independence Boulevard it’s easy to get to and there’s plenty of free parking.
