The updated marina is all about convenience for the boaters, who can stock up on supplies and groceries at the new dock office and connect to the Wi-Fi. Additionally, the boats will be better protected thanks to the newly installed concrete perimeter docks. The concrete perimeter lessens the impact of wakes from boats passing by. Also, there was new infrastructure built, which includes an office, clubhouse, and pool deck.
Due to the renovations, the Wrightsville Beach Marina is now expecting an increase of luxury mega yachts to dock with them throughout the year.

The Landfall Foundation has been a huge part of the Wilmington community for the last twenty-two years. The philanthropic organization founded by Frank Kenan is a way for the Landfall Community to help people in the Wilmington area by donating to multiple charities. Since it’s founding in 1995 the foundation has raised over 4 million dollars.
With a minimal overhead of only 3% the vast majority of donations go directly to the community. This is made possible by the low overhead and the board members all being volunteers. In the past twenty-two years eighty non-profits organizations have benefitted from the Landfall Foundation, and the majority of these were in the arts, education, and welfare. A few notable organizations that receive funding are the Landfall Scholars, which grants Landfall employees’ scholarships, Arlie Gardens, St. Mary’s Dental Clinic, and the Brigade Boys and Girls Club.
To help bring in donations the Landfall Foundations hosts numerous fundraisers. The most popular is the Landfall Foundation Gala, which raises almost 70% of the foundation’s revenue. Other events include a gold tournament, marathon, and art show.
The Landfall Foundation has been making a difference in Wilmington for over two decades thanks to the dedication of the board members and the support from the Landfall Community.

Wilmington has been ranked a one of the top cities for clean air. Only 6 cities received the highest rating in the study conducted by the American Lung Association.
Wilmington had zero days with ozone and high particle pollution between 2013 and 2015. The whole of Eastern North Carolina has proven to be a healthy place to live, with low air pollution levels. Greenville, Morehead City, and New Bern did not have any days with levels reaching the dangerous air pollution level.
North Carolina has been working on increasing air quality since 1970, when the Clean Air Act was passed. Since then there have been amendments to the original bill as well as the Clean Smokestacks Act, which has cut the state’s emissions from 245,000 tons to 56,000 tons in just 11 years.
The healthy air quality translates to healthy people. There are less asthma attacks, respiratory issues, and decreased heart issues.
