Wilmington, NC and the surrounding area (perhaps even the entire eastern seaboard and further) are anxiously anticipating the start of the 2010 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships to be held at the Country Club of Landfall May 18 through 21. The Country Club of Landfall is a focal point of the Landfall community and one of the premier clubs in North Carolina. The exceptional female golfers can look forward to playing the beautiful but demanding Pete Dye Course. The Dye course, Landfall’s original golf course, was completed in 1987 and was completely refurbished a few years ago. Characteristic of Mr. Dye’s signature styling, the course consists of rolling hills and undulating fairways, framing picturesque shots into challenging greens guarded by white sand bunkers and fresh water ponds.
As the billboards in town and on the interstates proclaim, the event is being hosted by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and will surely draw a huge crowd from around the country. You can purchase tickets for this event by calling 910.962.3233 or logging on to the NCAA website at http://www.ncaa.com/champ/index.html. If you’re planning a trip to the Wilmington area anytime in the near future, you might want to consider coming down for this exciting event and joining the cheering crowds at Landfall!Tags: CCL, events, NCAA, social Posted by
