Tomorrow there are three exciting events happening at the Country Club of Landfall. First there is a women’s round robin tennis tournament, which takes place from 11:00am until 12:30pm. All levels are welcome to join this fun sporting event!
The sports continue with a couple’s golf mixer in the afternoon with a shotgun start at 4:00. The golf tournament will be played on 9 holes at the Nicklaus Golf Course. Teams for this mixer with consist of four players, and will play in a scramble format, meaning each team will choose the best driver per hole and the team will proceed to play their own balls from that point. This is a great event to enjoy the outdoors and
spend quality time with your partner.
Finally, happening from 5:00pm to 8:00pm there is a Golf Holiday Sale happening at the
Nicklaus Golf Shop. In addition to big merchandise discounts, there will be cocktails, snacks, and free giftwrap all compliments of the Golf Staff!
Its time for the 34th Annual North Carolina Holiday Flotilla! Taking place this Saturday at Wrightsville Beach the flotilla is a holiday tradition for many in the area. The parade of boats covered in Christmas lights is the perfect transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
Tomorrow, events start with the Festival in the Park, which take place from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Held at the Wrightsville Beach Park the festival includes games, inflatable slides, bounce houses, a coloring contest, festival food, and an antique car show. Additionally, there are numerous vendor booths selling art, food, clothes, home décor, and more. This is perfect place to find unique Christmas gifts for your friends and family!
The boat parade starts at 6:00pm. The parade route goes around portion of Wrightsville Beach, with ideal locations to watch the parade at the Banks Channel Bridge, one of the South Harbor Island mini-parks, or the West Side of Waynick Boulevard. Judges will be located at the Blockade Runner, but anyone can text in their vote for their favorite boat. Come see Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker! Enjoy the famous ballet this Wednesday, November 22, to help you get in the holiday spirit! The stunning performance includes almost 40 ballerinas and dancers. The Moscow ballet dancers are among the best in the world, winning top awards International Ballet Competitions around the world, and feature the award winning Principal Dancers.
This classic Christmas story is about a family’s Christmas Eve celebration, specifically, a young girl’s discovery of a magical world and romance. Set to music by composer Tchaikovsky the ballet was first debuted a week before Christmas in 1892. Additionally, the Moscow Ballet has multiple partnerships with corporations and non-for-profit organizations, raising millions of dollars for charities over the past twenty years.

This Saturday is the 4th Annual Flavor of North Carolina: Fall Harvest Fest at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort at Wrightsville Beach. This event is sponsored by the Good Shepard Center, and proceeds from the evening will go towards providing a pathway of self-sufficiency for hungry and homeless people in the community. There will be a whole hog pig pickin’ with all the fixin’s, North Carolina craft beer, Spiked Harvest Cider, wine, and a signature drink. Additionally, there will be fun entertainment with music and dancing, North Carolina trivia, a corn hole tournament, and a bonfire. The most exciting portion of the night is the auction, which includes fabulous items to bid on.

It’s time for the 16th Annual Collegiate Golf Tournament, The Landfall Tradition! Eighteen women’s college teams, hosted by the UNCW Seahawks, will be competing for first place. Attending will be four of the nation’s top 10 best teams in the county, which are Alabama, Florida, Duke, and Furman. Additionally, last years champion South Carolina will also be competing to defend their title. This is always a close competition with last year’s tournament ending in a tie breaker.

This Halloween the Country Club of Landfall has fun events for all ages!
For children there is a Halloween dinner movie party. This party takes place Friday, October 27th from 6:00pm-9:30pm. The movie that will be shown is Hotel Transylvania.
For children aged ten and up there is a Double Digits Halloween Party. This year’s theme is creepy carnival. This scary event will be held in the Heron Room at the Landfall Clubhouse on Friday, October 20, from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. There will be light snacks and lots of spooky Halloween fun!
Finally, for adults there is a Halloween party with live music! Dance the night away with the band, The Imitations. Additionally, there will be outdoor fire pits, perfect for socializing around. Costumes are encouraged so come to dressed to impress! The party takes place Friday, October 27th from 7:00pm-11:00pm at the Nicklaus Clubhouse.
The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra has a concert Mozart and Brahms, this Saturday. This exciting performance features international pianist, Dr. Barry Salwen. Barry has not only received his bachelor, master, and doctorate degree from Julliard, but has performed and given master classes all over the world, including Asia, Israel, Europe, and the US.
Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 and Brahm’s Symphony No. 2 are two of the pieces that will be performed on Saturday. Wednesday October 5th, is the Investors Roundtable of Wilmington meeting. Michael Thompson will be the featured speaker at the meeting, and will be talking about TC2000, a charting tool for technical analysis. Michael is the Director of Education and Business Relations at Worden Brothers and has taught classes on the program for over 16 years. TC2000 is a program that scans stocks to determine which ones are consolidating, breaking out, or experiences major divergences. The portion of the program he focuses on teaching is about trading personalities and priorities. This meeting will take place at noon at the Country Club of Landfall.
The Investors Roundtable is an educational forum that discusses financial, economic, and business information to private investors. These meetings are held monthly, with lunch served at 12pm followed by the speaker’s presentation. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about the stock market!
It’s time to join the Landfall Great Oaks Club! Next Wednesday, September 13th, is the start of a new year at the women only Great Oaks Club. The club plans exciting programs throughout the year. The activities vary and include gardening, theatre and film, local authors and historians, fashion shows, luncheons, home and garden tours, day trips, and more!
